Does anyone have any experience with Germanwings and TUI fly? Good? Bad? I know they're low cost airlines, and thus evil by default, but how horrible are they? Moderately so, or do they take pride in their villiany? Just thought I'd ask considering how badly people react to the suggestion of using a Berlin airport. Wink

[edit:] Thank you everyone for your replies and information! Now I know how I'll (probably) be getting there this year! Smiley

No personal experience of using Germanwings, but I've heard they're pretty good. As for the TUIfly flights, they're just reselling the Germanwings ones.

Cheers,

I used their flights when they were still low cost from Greece.  I was more pleased with Tuifly, as they offered a good sized snack (e.g. croissant, sandwich) on board!  But even German Wings did something that pleased me: there was a 4 hour delay on one of their flights and they gave 4 Euros worth of food coupons to each passenger! For GermanWings, please verify their luggage regulations and costs before you book -- at least for national flights, it seems like they now have pretty significant extra fees for the first (and even more for the second) piece of checked luggage, even more if you do not book this luggage in advance, etc. I do not know about their international flights, but this might significantly add to your costs if you have more than just hand luggage ...

Used Germanwings both for EF10 and EF11 — both times it was a really good experience Smiley  Unfortunately I haven't flown with them since, so I have no idea about their current standing.
