EF-goer who had a crash on sunday?
« on: 02.09.2008, 19:24:36 »

As I was leaving Suhl and driving through Zella-Mehlis on sunday I saw two cars that had crashed on a large crossing there. One of the people at the scene was wearing an EF t-shirt. I'd like to know who it was and whether everything is allright, cause it kind of sucks to end a con in that way...  :-\

it was the UK guys Sno, Shema and Pickle in the UK convoy - they're all OK and they managed to get home with the help of the rest of the convoy. Accident was caused by a complete asshole who cut them up and drove off - luckily an off-duty policeman witnessed it, got registration and driver details and the driver has been reported.

That was not Sno, Shema and Pickle. They crashed yesterday night (Monday 1st) at Brussels, this is a seperate accident that happened near Suhl.

Hope everyone was ok.

I know of another group of furs who crashed on the way home, but that wasnt near the Suhl if memory serves. A large truck crashed into their back. Luckilly there were no injuries.

Wait, so there were THREE EF-related crashes?

If this had been EF13 but had it still been called Horrorfurence, I'd be really scared now.

Barney, I noticed they were taking you to hospital on the Sunday evening, but nobody knew what happened to you. Both me and Spike/Altrus were so worried, and Duke was nowhere to be found too. Later on Monday we were told you returned from hospital and already departed. At least the fact you are writing here shows you are OK now. Thanks be the God for that.

Nah, Barney was the really tall one. Like 2.10 m-and-more-tall. I think he might have been wearing a brown Barney the Dinosaur suit too, but I'm not sure.

AkiFox: If Im not mistaken, the suiter with the knives on right paw was Shay (Wolly) - A suit made by Arend Studios. Barney was very tall husky like home made suit.

I heard a lots of theories what may have been a cause of Barneys transfer to hospital. First was a mild heart attack, second was astma (confirmed by you), and third an severe case of overheating.

<off-topic>I saw several other furies walking around bandaged too (head, leg, etc.)</off-topic>

I saw someone with a head bandaged Monday just before I left.  No names to protect the people involved.

Yo!

I had to go to the hospital on friday right after the Fursuit Parade cause I tore the hamstring in my right thigh. I am indeed the guy with the suit that had the freddy krueger claws.

I really hope everyone got back safe and sound!

I can confirm that Barney is up again =) Just after such an evening he needed some propper sleep.

And yeah, I noticed that this was not the only time an ambulance was there this year. But I did not hear anything abotu the car crashes. I hope the ones involved are okay o.o

The guy with the bandaged head on Monday was from France.

He cracked open his skull on the door of the closet that was over the fridge, and had to go to hospital to check he had no concussion (i dunno if he needed stitches)...

I saw Barney go out on a stretcher, Shay got his leg problem, someone (I'm terrible with names) got bitted on the hand by a dog, and i heard that someone else had a broken tooth...

Makes 5 casualties so far.... Impressive...

On our trip back to Belgium, we almost crashed in the car in front of us, as it suddenly decided to slow down in a screech for no reason at all, on the third lane left.
Without Mr Black (my boyfriend) that warned us on this odd behavior of the Polish jerk in front of us, we might have died on the sound of "Papa don't Preach" from Madonna (i don't want to die on such a song!)

Thanks for everyones concern, here are a few reactions to the forum to clear things up:

I had a severe astma attack on top of what they found out in the hospital was a beginning bronchitis. Caused a lot of panic in me bad enough to need an ambulanceride to the hospital.

Yes, I'm the tallest guy around but no, I've got a home made husky suit. Strange enough: I wouldn't be able to fit into the dinosaur suit.

My heart is still okay fortunately, the heat stroke I almost had a day earlier (thank God for showers). Although it might have contributed to it. Guess we'll never know.

Yep, thanks for picking me up buddy.

Well, Yesterday I went to see my own doctor and he told me I have a bronchitis, an ear infection and sinusitis. So won't go anywhere for a while.

Canus and Mbili had a nasty crash (fortunately, no severe injuries, but a totaled car) one day after the con.
