Five times from the US to Germany with British Airways....................five times they left my fursuit in London.

Don't use British Airways or London Heathrow

Good to know such information...  It just seemed a lot more convenient for visiting friends in London, however I'd like to not have to worry about my luggage getting lost (Kind of why I don't fly Air Canada anymore, they've lost my luggage going from YEG or YYC to YVR *rolls eyes - well, and Westjet YYC to YVR is like... $120 compared to $400 or so)...

i'm planning on putting mine in my suitcase in a box to keep it safe, the suitacae is a hard top one so it should be safe
