You know, I'm quite shy myself - at least if I'm somewhere on my own. I relaxe greatly if I feel secure and am surrounded by people I know. At EF things should get a bit easier for you, as there are many nice and open-hearted people running around - looking for new friends...

I'm imagining a big badge similar to the "Free Hugs" with "I'm new - talk to me" ;)
Might actually work for some who are just too shy to start a conversation.
