Well, the problem here is fairly universal: Beer off the tap in Holland is actually far better than the stuff they export :D But that goes for quite a lot of countries and their beers...

Yeah, Heineken for instance is a good exportproduct even though I think it is like having sex in a canoe, but on the other hand Amstel is very drinkable.

Countries known for their beer:

Australia
Germany
Ireland
America
Canada

Countries known for their good beer:

Australia
Germany
Ireland
Canada

'Nuff said.

Obviously, you're talking about the fizzy brand named stuff, not *proper* beer, like only Germany and England seem to have any idea how to brew :P

My apologies if I forgot the other countries.

Germany, Australia, Mexico and Ireland have prominence here in the United States concerning beer.

Well we are one of the better producers...

At the "Bier tempel" here in Brussels we have more than a 1000 of different brews..

Maybe someone should "educate" the US people by opening a shop of Belgian beers there??

I have tried, mind you, saying no one has heard of them is actually a bad statement.  So people have, but it is mostly people that travel a lot.  Personally, Duval and Leffe are some of my favorite beers.
