[EF 17] Video Game Developers Meet&Greet

<< < (2/3) > >>

nifela:
Personally, I found the design/code split a bit limiting since I like to hear from both sides and could use some pointers for my own game projects - but it can be more organised this way.

Meta:
Hello,

I'm really interested about it,
I understand the idea of splitting code and design, at EF15 we talked almost exclusively about code, i admit i forced myself to stay and understand what people said (as I work in art and my English skills are quite basic).
It was a really interesting experience though but i think almost all artist/designers left before the end.
As I consider video games should be taken as a whole, perhaps we could split at the beginning and join the two parts at the end ?

btw, Udk workshop interests me a LOTS.  ;)

(sorry for my bad english)

leinir:
i personally felt the split last year worked quite well, simply because of the large number of people who joined. If we'd all been in the same circle, we would've never managed to cover the topics we did... It's unfortunate, i would've liked to hear what the visual and audio artists had to say as well, but such is life, of course :)

To go with the offer of an UDK workshop, i'd like to offer a little workshop or showcase of Gluon - i'll be coming in from GDC Europe, and hopefully i'll have something nice to show off :D

Thygrrr:
I think the split is a good idea, I loosely announced in the Conbook description I just announced.

--- Quote ---Video Game Developers, Arists, Designers and Producers - join our yearly Meet & Greet at Eurofurence! Thygrrr and past years' round table regulars invite you to come and share opinions, experiences, and ideas with other furs working in the industry. Whether you've worked on video games in the past or are dreaming of a career in this exciting industry, everybody is welcome to join and mingle with us.

The panel will be loosely split into tech and design/production round tables, meaning that it should offer plenty of opportunity for both techy and artsy types to find interesting things to discuss. Jacks of all Trades are more than welcome to contribute to both circles, of course.

--- End quote ---

Thygrrr:
According to EF Schedule Rev.2.05.2, the Meet+Greet takes place Friday, 16:00
