How to tip in germany

Just some information how to tip right in germany:
Taxi 10 %
Restaurant 10-15 %
Bar 10 - 15 %
Hotel Maid 1 - 2 Euros a day
Doorman 1 Euro per piece of luggage

That's another difference between the UK and just about everywhere else...We don't generally tip, except taxi drivers in London, where a 10 to 15% tip is customary. ;)
And you don't have to worry about nasty surprises at checkout either. "You know that room you thought you were paying $99 a night for...It's actually $112.86 a night due to there being 14% room tax." (Adams Mark Philadelphia, RIP)

Well, you generally dont have to tip in Germany. I think noone would blame you for not to tip, but usually we show that we were satisfied with the service. I think what Nightfox wanted to say is, what we usually tip and that the tip you make wont be too high.

it's quite like in france, but we usally left the coins, so it's even cheaper :/
