Title: medieval fair taking place parallel to EF in 2012
Post by: Ragear on 14.08.2012, 19:38:59
Hi Furs,

apparently (and I've found nothing about it here) there'll be a big medieval fair taking place at the time of the EF 2012. For this the historic part of magdeburg around the cathedral (dat ol' chuch we went fursuitparading 2011 :)) and the old cloister will be cordoned off.
Infos (sorry furs, this is a german event, no odd alien languages or clawmark rune translations available  m( probably no interational tourists aside from some furries every once in a while... ;D)

map: http://goo.gl/maps/x3wcj
grand parade Friday 16:00cet: http://www.kaiserottofest.de/index.php?id=163
fairground: http://www.kaiserottofest.de/park_and_ride/
trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcqIrVtdTHc&feature=player_embedded
program: http://www.kaiserottofest.de/programm/

admission to the fair will be 7euro single admission and 15euro/ 3day pass per fur.

ahem: this is not the place nor time to discuss wether or not this is an organizational problem or not. At least the parade route will be affected. And there may be more public present, though I hope the media misses us in favor of the good ol' times :-))

have fun

Okay, sorry for keeping this thing locked for so long, but I wanted to keep rumours and speculations under control :) So there is no need to worry. We've been in close contact with the festival's committee and the city office. The fursuit parade is going to take place on Friday afternoon and we have worked out a route for the fursuit parade that does not clash with the Kaiser Otto festival.  So basically, everything is fine.

Awesome! Well, I really hope it won't rain like last time and hope the weathergods will be with us this year!

Awesome! 95% less collapsing fursuiters than in 35 degrees hot, relentlessly scorching afternoon sun!

Sunwolf, cool down, sit down, read the details: there's a 50-60% chance for 2mm of rain. Which is 2 liters/ square meter. That still counts as air humidity :-) don't worry, suit happy, the temerature should be ok. And don't use water solulable glue on your suit ... Aside from the fact I don't trust a weather forecast for the next 5 minutes, lest for 5 days this looks pretty good.

You are aware that in Central Europe any forecast beyond 72 hours has the same reliability as reading tea leafs? (Except for the Netherlands and Great Britain, where "it will rain" is a correct forecast, usually.)
