Title: Furry Music Cafe
Post by: KryoMouse on 17.07.2008, 15:35:36
With regards to the email that was sent out the other day, has anyfur decided to take responsibility for this event? We can't let it go by the wayside... ._.

let's bring this topic up again.

Chama has moved back to sweden. Does anyone know if he'S going to attend this years EF (EF15 I mean)
And if not is anyone willing to take over the event? Squints over to Eisfuchs?
Without FMC we won't have any life music event at EF so far.

I will be happy to host another FMC if Chama can't make it. I think we learned a bit from last year's setup, but in general it was a nice thing to have it like this. Comments and suggestions always welcome, even if Chama attends. He can pick up where we are.

What exactly is the FMC?
It's an event where furry musicians can present their work. From idears to finished songs, from all live to ready produced. It's a little like "open mike night" or a musical vernisage with coffee and cookies. :)
Normaly the host is looking for contributions and contributors bevore EF, to compile a little programm for the event and to get an overview which instruments are needed.
The last years it enden up having quite a decent band setup and with lots of musicians sitting around it always happend that someone just grabbed an instrument and started jaming with other picking up.

it has always been great fun

Sometimes, yes :)

(For those who haven't been to EF yet, and wondering what we're talking about: The Furry Music Cafe is a mix between a furry music talent showcase and an open jam session :) )

Chama is registered for EF15 and has paid his membership.

So I am assuming he is planning to attend :)

I'm travelling by car, so there's a choice of 5-string fretted, or fretless 6.

Boldly going where no fur has gone before, I dare ask the question: Does it lie implicit that you're supposed to show up with a bass/guitar/drums/other 'modern' instruments, or would, say, a violin be cool too? *dun dun dun duuuuuh*

Just curious. As I'll be travelling by train, I may be able to bring my instrument. ;D

Does this help? This is from last year's FMC :)

Fellow musician here! Although an inexperienced and shy one. I play the piano (sort of) and sing (sort of), and have a few original songs. Have never performed live before, and don't always hit the right chords.

Anyway, could be interested in somehow contributing to this, if y'all would have me and if this is happening.

Do you need to bring your own equipment / instruments, by the way?

We'll have at least guitars, bass and keyboards there. I think the people would be okay with lending those for a performance. Anything you blow (waits for snickers to die down) or anything more exotic, you should bring yourself.

If anyone needs help with accompaniments, just post it here (sorry, I will be checking the forum daily henceforth :) ).
