Hello everyone!
As you might have noticed, there is neither a web page nor a registration announcement yet, and I'm afraid I have to announce that registration is not going to start before February 2010. (We might have been able to start mid-January, but we didn't want to open registration in the middle of everyone preparing for Further Confusion.)
The reason is a very ad-hoc change in German VAT tax law, that effectively raises the costs for hotel rooms by 12% ... and creates a lot of legal uncertainty for us. We have to review both our pricing and the way our registration system does its internal bookkeeping. All this happened at very short notice, and we are very sorry that means both the prices AND the registration opening date printed on the Flyers handed out at EF15 are no longer valid. EF will become slightly more (in the range up to 10%) expensive than expected so we can make up for the reduced tax refunds.
If you're upset ... feel encouraged to harrass your nearst FDP member of parliament about what they were smoking when they passed the "Wachstumsbeschleunigungsgesetz". We can't do anything about it, sorry.
