Meow!
Just for fun, I have revived the Nosecounter, which allows you to get some more-or-less realtime stats about the ongoing registation process:
https://reg.eurofurence.org/nosecount.html
As you can see, staff pre-reg is in progress at the moment. Public registration will start as planned next Saturday.
The stats are broken down in 4 categories:
- New: Number of people who have confirmed their email address, but have not been manually approved yet
- Accepted: People who have been manually approved (no matter if they have paid or not)
- Waiting: People who have applied for a room category that is currently unavailable
- Cancelled: Cancelled applications (bogus registrations, non-payments, and all other reasons)
-
There's a typo reading "Attenfance by Country (Comparison)".
Otherwise it looks nice :) Fun to see the statistics.
-
So roughly about 10% of the attendees are staff. Seems worth-while if only for the pre-reg privilges.
-
Pre reg last year consisted of about 110 registrations.
This is not only staff, but special guests as well.
Cheetah, any chance you will show us some demographics like last year as well?
Oh hell! I just saw all the links, that's just awesome work there :D

Believe me, being staff at EF is not a privilege. It's TORTURE :)

Con will eat you.

Some people actually enjoy torture ;)
Recherchè, was that an application for volunteering?
*purrrr*

I thought that only happens in Russia.

Actually I don't think that someone who doesn't understand, that those who work almost a full year on the preparations are simply needed to run such a convention, would be useful in any way. But maybe it was meant as a yoke? No offense intended :)

Mh, sad that there is no male/female chart, I'm really interested how genders are split. Also asked that last year but never got an answer.
Nyam, nyam, well, we'll see if I can get a hotel room on my third try.^^
Greetings,
RealZero

I haven't made that part of the public graphs .. because it's been a rather embarassing ratio around 1:10 ... with not much change over the last few years. Which is a pity, IMHO.

Just keep us updated if EF breaks it into the 9:1 ratio then :)

Now we have proof that EF registration servers can withstand with ease a DDOS attack :)
(and I'm happy with having been part of that spike ;D )

So many registration that you had to extend the day to 24:30? ;)

You should come to EF. At EF parties go until 31:00 o'clock :)

I know, I've been to quite a few ;)

It looks like you are on track for a new attendance record. I still have to decide, considering the costs, both in time and money. About how many rooms remain unclaimed?
-
You guys are totally insane!!!
But you like us, don't you? :)
-
Holy cow.......that is just awesome ^^
-
Many nice stats on nosecounter page already... If possible, I'd still like to see full list of countries.
And how many sponsors and supersponsors? How many furries have fear of heights? :)
(I just like stats...)
-
And what about a repartition between guys/girls?
Seem that every year girls are more present.. wanna see if the numbers confirm that..

Well as Cheetah already said:

I think they usually post the full list of countries only after the con.

I'm sure it'd be fairly easy to extract that data "right now".
Something that'd be interesting would be to see a comparison of the data registered and the actual figures, once the con has been. I'd also love to see, maybe per country/gender/flavour/$foo how many ppl have been to the con "first time", twice, thrice, ... 16 times. I.e. recurring visitors. Mmm, statistics.

Neat! :)
-
I wonder what's the point of anything to the right of "Now" :D Maybe it could be put on the right end of the scale.
Also, the stepping of the scale is a bit too short, it's not really possible to see the past on the time graphs.

Sometimes, I does :)

This is when it shows that the scripts I'm using were originally meant to be used only during the first evening of registration. I re-used the statistics from the live video broadcast we had last year ... and honstely, It's just a collection of toys that was easy to provide since the code was already there, nothing more, I don't really feel like putting much more work into it :)
-
How many rooms left, any stats from those too?
-

yes, there are rooms left
Studio and Single room booked out.
Statistic:
standard: some
Superior: few
Suite: some
;)
-
how many from the coutries not in the top 10?
-
Okay, I'm sorry, I know that you're all very curious about more statistics, but please understand that all this is purely compliemtary, and that the registration team does not have the time to compile individual statistics and answer individual requests at the moment. That's why I'm closing this thread now, I'm sorry :)
