Post by: ShadowSani on 09.01.2011, 01:13:49
it mentioned creditcards, but would that include visa debits as well? just curious, thanks!

If it has the VISA logo on it, it should work. So the theory :) We don't yet have any actual experience with VISA debit cards, though. So by all means, please give it a try, and we'll see if your payment goes through or not.

Hi ShadowSani,

it would be nice if you'd make a short note here if it worked or not. Maybe it is interesting for others to know if they can use their debit card or not.

Hi ShadowSani,

Technically you can do so right now by making an IBAN payment. This used to be expensive in (in the UK) but I just looked it up for my bank (HSBC) and it's now a grand high total of <drum roll...> 62 euro pennies more expensive than the EF CC charge.**  Many banks like HSBC probably give you the ability to do it online, or at worst, over the phone, so it needn't be more effort than the EF method.

It might be worth you checking what your own banks charge.

Disclaimer:
**Assuming you pay all at once. Two payments for me would be E11 more expensive. EF may also want to bill you the CC charge if you mix payments now and then.
Title: Pay In Full Only?
Post by: Asphyxia on 03.03.2011, 19:16:13
I looked at the credit card payment page and was greeted to this:

"Note that in order to limit the number of transactions, you can only pay the full remaining dues."

I was thinking about making two payments myself and even upgrading my membership from attending to super sponsor with my second payment.

So, I suppose my question is, will we only have this one payment option and have to pay our entire registration in full?

Thanks, Aspy~

I've talked to our software team and they say it's not a problem to add options later and issue a second payment. The statement "You can't make partial payments" only means you can't pay your con membership seperately from your room reservation when both are booked at the same time.

If you've booked package X and paid for it, it's no problem to book package Y on top of that later, and start a second CC transaction covering the extra amount due.

If you book package X and add package Y before you've paid for package X, both packages will add up to one single amount due that you can only pay in one single CC transaction.

I did pay with my VISA debit card, no problem, no charge :)
