Title: Feedback on dance competition
Post by: Suran on 26.08.2011, 14:54:58

The dance competition was great!!!
However 1 point I noticed.
Would it be possible to have less extreme light next time?
I saw a number of recordings and all (including both of my cameras) suffer from underexposing the audience/jury and overexposing the dancers at the same time
because the audience/jury where in the dark and the dancers entering and leaving very high power spotlights.
I can't imagine the official camera crew to have a better fate.
(If they manually adjusted to get the dancers right, the audience/jury would have been black on black something. )

The lighting was okay for the dancers and the audience. For cameras, it is always a problem, and experienced camera operators are needed to make stage scenes like these look good.

The official camera crew had no problems with the lighting, btw.

Oh cool!
Guess I found something else I need to work on and learn more about.
Looking forward to see their recording.

Dance Competition, especially, for the very first one at EF, was really-really awesome.
For me it was one of the best events going on there.
The music during the dance-offs were amazing choice for 'em! ♫
And the lights did their job just right! Outstandingly dynamic!
That event was really THE show!

Keep it up, and, I hope, next year will show even more amazing contenders! ♡

Thanks everybody, who made this possible! (ᴖ ◡ ᴖ)ノ

Thanks for the nice words! I'm glad you liked it, and I am planning to bring it back, with some small changes. But right now I'm just enjoying that little coma of mine. :)

(I just noticed BBF himself having the same problem in his awesome Anthrocon 2011 Video. Part I at 33:00.
You should watch it! It's a great piece of work.)
