Hi folks,
waaaaaay back in 1998 (that's a spiffy 15 years ago!) I produced a little "best-of" video of Eurofurence 4. It was low quality, it was horrible, and it was probably the worst idea I ever had.....
....and it's also lost.
The master tapes were destroyed by accident in 2005, and as far as I know no digital copies of the final cut exist. (This was the age of VHS, after all).
I think there are about 30 or 40 copies in total circulation, and with EF20 coming up next year I'd really like to get my hands onto one of them, if only for the historical value, so that EF can use it for the highlights reel (and humiliate me in public m()
Now there's one thing - there were a few Super VHS copies. I don't know who has them, as the lists are long lost - so if you know you have the EF4 video, please check if it's SVHS. If yes, congratulations, you have the golden egg - please be so nice and contact me by PM so we can arrange a transfer to digital media by our army of professionally trained bluefoxes. :)
It'd be really nice to see this pile of manure... err, I mean this gem of early EF history unearthed from its slumber.

If it ever resurfaces, please, I want to see it digitized and preserved. No matter how bad it might have been. Any kind of video material from early EFs is super-rare.

I don't know who might have the SVHS, but I do know someone who has the VHS version and last time I saw it, it was pretty well preserved. PM me if that information helps you too.

Are you sure? It has you singing in it, after all. ;D

I wouldn't know, I never managed to get a copy of it :)

I know I had a copy, and since I usually don't throw stuff away, I should still have it somewhere in a box in the next room ... But I am not entirely sure. Please remind me tomorrow and I'll go for a dive into the boxes.

I have the SVHS Tape Copy, becase part of your video based on a set of 3 Hi8 Tapes i did at EF4.
I also have the three Hi8 Tapes.

Do you have a way of digitizing them with reasonably good quality? If yes, PLEASE DO SO! We need to preserve this stuff :)
BBF got a large box with EF6 material from me. Maybe we can one day make a "classic ef" documentary out of it. We'll see.

I will bring the tape to the PPS meeting next WE.
I will hand it over to BBF which have the way better equipment ;)
I gave BBF some old video stuff from 1999/2000/2001 still last year or two.
Some Video related to the very very beginning of Fairlight Puppet activities for example ;)

Found a couple of tapes lableled EF4, can't say if these are the S-VHS or VHS tapes. Might even be the raw footage I got. I'll just bring them with me next time we meet.
