New thread for this years EF mobile app.
- Current status -
iPhone (version: 1.19): In the app store per the 5th of August.
Android (version: 1.19): In the app store sometime during the 17th of August.
Database: Released, 18th of August.
General changes:
- Added sorting of events by either date/time or name.
- Upcoming events (-1 to +5 hours from now). This will allow you to quickly see what's happening.
- Convention messages in the intro tab. ConOps can now post messages that is display in the device using pull (not push, sorry *sad smiley* Will work on that in the future)
- Twitter tab has been removed due to changes in the Twitter API.
Android changes:
- Maps can now be more freely zoomed
- Rotations no longer resets the content on dealer, drinks, restaurants and events.
- Several bugs fixed
- Now requires 2.3 to run and 2.2 is no longer supported.

Especially the convention message feature is great, IF it is used in a good way, maybe for announcing delays or something.
Will there also be optional push-notifications for that?

Android version has now been published to the app store. Might take a few hours before it's online. Sorry for the delay.

Just updated the Android version on my Galaxy S3 only for it to crash on launch. Clearing the data and doing an uninstall and reinstall cured it though.

Yea this is the effect of me doing some slight database updates. The app preserves the database from last year and then i try to access parts of it that do not exist. I totally forgot about that problem =/
Easiest is just to uninstall and re-install the app again. That way you will have deleted the old database.
Will have to work on something to eliminate this problem for next year.

Can you PLEASE describe what kind of errors you encountered?
Did you do anything special?
On what tabs did they occur?
What were the error messages?
How did they present themselves (did the app crash?)
No maps, did you click on the maps tab?
What version of iOS are you running?
What type of iPhone do you have?
Let me just clarify one thing. I have never even used an iPhone until this years EF. I tried to build this iPhone version in the same style as i did the Android version which was not falling out all to well. This year was the first time that i actually had an iPhone to test with and i do see several things that i need to fix (now that i know what to fix).
It was either an "Android-style-iPhone-app" or no iPhone app. So please, if you want something changed or if something did not work as intended, then describe the problem.
How do you fix: "errors"?

Thanks a lot for the app Trax, I really used it a lot :D
Especially the "Events going on now" feature was really nice! Also the food discount info was great to always have at hand.
There's nothing negative to say about the app, just some suggestions here:
- Displaying not only start times but also end times (or durations) of Events
- Maybe being able to set a reminder for Events, so it creates a calendar event with a reminder for the Event with the push of a button.
- Of course, push notifications ;)

Good idea, but well, maybe don't forget the WP users next time...
