Title: From the U.S.
Post by: mstrlitamacwolf on 18.01.2014, 12:03:08: This will be my first time ever going to EuroFurence & my first time being in Germany alone. I don't speak German very well.

What are some things I should do to make sure I have a smooth ride to the con & at the con?

Do I need any shots or a physical of any kind?

Also since I am a American should I be worried that I'm a American?

Get a passport. Apply early, since US bureaucracy is a lot like german bureaucracy, but on an overdose of ADHD medication :) I think in the last 20 years of EF, underestimating how long it takes to get your travel documents has been the number one showstopper for US attendees.

Not everyone, but a lot of people in Germany are bilingual. That means, not everyone, but a lot of people will be able to understand you, and help you out when you're lost. So there's not much to worry about. Especially in Berlin, which is very multi-cultural.

Well, since wolves are canines and an endangered species, you should probably renew your rabies shots and have your CITES papers ready :) But seriously, Germany is just your average boring country full of the same people you'll find all over the world. Unless you suspect you're Patient Zero of the oncoming zombie apocalypse, there's nothing special to take care of.

In general? Maybe :) When coming to Germany? Absolutely not.

I don't think so. There might be some stereotypes (like people thinking all Americans are fat and own guns), but nothing serious ;D.
