Hey there! I was browsing through the already finished parts of the EF homepage (shush, you people should update all the EF 13s to 14s ;) ) and I am a bit confused now.
I thought EF 14 was supposed to become a mainly Horror themed con, while "From Dusk till Dawn" was merely a ... subtitle kind of thing. Now I read in the Art Contest Section that "FDTD" seems to be the main theme, (classical) horror movies coming on third place only. If that's the case I'd confess it would make me unhappy. :/ It would narrow down the possibilities and ideas drastically to the movie and George Clooney lookalikes. While it surely contains horror elements its more an action-thriller thingy.
Horror as such would allow everybody more freedom and it would surely made it easier to decorate the con side in an appropriate way. Unless you guys really want to re-build the TittyTwister.
Have I got something wrong here? Please help.

Hear hear, I love all manner of horror movies, especially the old style hammer horror variety. Be nice to see all sorts of horror genres and types represented, Im really excited about this as the con theme if its open and expansive as im sure it is.

The list is not weighted. All horror-related stuff is welcome :)
I just chose a stricter wording, because when I wrote "interpret it as you like" last year, we got contributions that interpreted "the unlucky 13" not having ANYTHING to do with the overall casino theme ... which was not what we were looking for.
So this time I wanted to make sure, that it when we say "from dusk till dawn", we are NOT looking for pictures of beautiful night skies and sunsets, but that it really WAS the movie which inspired us to choose the theme.
But as I said, it is NOT limited to the movie.

Nah, they'll love us! At least thats what the feedback of hotel staff and regular hotel guests were last year.

They'll hear howls..laughter..weird sounds...They'll pick up their pitchforks and torches and hunt is down one by one!

Hm, come to think of it, i'm sure looking forward to seeing dozens of furs bringing their horrorish axes, crossbows, Chainsaws, whatsoever... and Somewolf enforcing the "no weapon and no weapon repliques" policy.

It would be interesting, that's for sure, but the town is quite a ways down the hill. I don't think you would get the reaction of the townsfolk coming up to investigate. Mind you, I would be a tad bit frightened if they did.

First time I got there I thought "What the hell am I doing here..." When I got downstairs in suit and someone gave me a cuddle I was like "Okay, that's why I'm here". If you see a big black dog roaming around, give me a hug will ya?

ya know...this howling thing sounds like fun....maybe plan it in the timetable....shouldn't take long...just somewhere in the evening/night...all furry's who want collect outside/inside to howl at the moon....(or mewl in my case)

Er, don't wanna spoil the fun but has anyone any idea what that will do with local wildlife? I mean we would scare the hell out of every fox, deer, squirrel, bird... Just in the time of year that most animals are raising younsters... So maybe not such a great idea.

actually, it probably wouldnt phase them at all. Any animals living round there will have gotten used to loud music, odd 'human' noises and the like coming from the hotel anyway.

I have to agree with nekotorisha a howling event would be fun and eventful for this years con. Should try to squeeze it in after the rave or some time before it. Would get the blood pumping thats for sure.
