Do you like fur, art, puppetry or gimmicky stage tech? Then we have great news for you!
To achieve even greater goals in the future, the Eurofurence Pawpet Team is looking for enthusiastic people who would like to share their love for the fandom by helping to make one of its biggest events even more awesome.
The EF Pawpet Show is with 17 years one of the longest running spectacles of the fandom. Every year we amaze more than 2000 people with emotional adventures, memorable characters and impressive anthropomorphic puppets. Everything you will see at the show is handcrafted and live played by about 50 dedicated team members and amazing volunteers.
We offer you to join this very team at Eurofurence to apply your individual talents, obtain hands on experience in theatrical production and get to know the people behind “Skies of Astar” and “Keepers of the Light”.
So, what are you waiting for?
We are looking for a wide variety of people who:
-> Can use their hands to hold, sew, saw or glue (Workshop)
-> Like to draw fantastic creatures and sceneries from scratch (Art)
-> Have an interest in video and media production (Postproduction)
-> Voice act for fun (Play)
-> Or get watery eyes by hi-tech stage equipment (Stage)
The Workshop
A show can seem quite magical, but not without the great people crafting it. Everyone in the workshop is providing the show with unique props, backgrounds, clothes, contraptions and additional puppets to enrich everything we got. Remote controlled flickering lights on a grave filled church yard, workshop. A 5-meter-tall dragon to cuddle up with the audience, workshop. A toy gun glued on a black painted stick, workshop. No matter the skills, with you the workshop will provide the tools and passion to create all sorts of sceneries and the means to bring the show to life!
(You don’t have time at EF? We have several workshop weekends before the show. Join us there and help us create the next great Ortha, Keeper attire or toy gun glued on a stick!)
The Art
Before one can start to build, there is need for a crafty mind and a good design. From vast backdrops, deep characters and beautiful intermissions, this creative team is fleshing out the world of the show. By working together with the director, everyone with a mindset of an artist is setting its mark on how the show will look and feel for everyone involved. From dark medieval societies and anthropomorphic cults to the technical wonders of fluffballs in space. You are interested to create the unreal and display it to thousands of other furriers? Than show your talents with the Art Team.
The Postproduction
One Show, One Convention, thousands of viewers online. You want to break with us the limitations of just displaying the show only once a year? Than join us to bring it to the boundless audience on the world wide web. With access to every camera on and off stage, you would help to make the show available for everyone on the globe and create snip bits to promote the PPS, the team and yourself. Everyone can help who likes to fiddle with audio, putting together the right angles of film or give the videos some touch with postproduction magic.
The Stage
Lights, metal and a head for heights. The stage team is building everything up that is needed to provide a show for a great audience like the attendees at EF. What started out as a shoebox stage of 3-meter width and 2-meter height, with no technical installation whatsoever, is now a whopping 18-meter wide and 4.5-meter high two-level monster that needs to be tamed. Motorized curtains, individual lifting mechanisms, a multichannel sampling system, 30 digitally controlled lighting fixtures, multiple sfx units, audio monitor as well as an intercom system and a video feedback for a fully equipped front of house. You want to manage an ETC Source4 Zoom 15°-30° @750W, lay your hands on a Avolites TigerTouch II or mix audio with a Yamaha PM5D, then help us on stage!
