EF Dates... later and later...
« on: 14.11.2006, 18:54:46 »

this might be the first EF I may have to miss out on since I started going to them as the dates each year have been slipping later and later in the year - now they're into September - well past the beginning of the new University year, which is a bloody busy time of year :(

I had 'words' from the boss this year as it was the last week of August and just at the beginning of the new academic year... and now I see EF13 will be even later, cutting into the Autumn term even more... *sighs*

I hope I can swing the time off, but it's harder and harder to get time off the further into the academic year it pushes - it'd be SO much easier if it were actually around 'holiday time'...

Ah well - I'm not bitching about it as it may be easier for some other people to get there so much later in the year, just saying how hard it'll be for academic types - not easy to take the first week or two of term off at the start of a whole new year!

The problem was that there was only 1 weekend left in that time (August/September) to book the hotel exclusively. We know it's quite late this time...
But when everything works fine and we'll return there again in 2008, the EF date might be earlier again. Depending on the time table of the hotel.

Likewise, EF11 was much earlier than our usual end of August slot for the same reason. That probably explains why Eurofurence appears to be moving to a later date each year...
