Sadly I have to announce that today we've begun cancelling the registrations of everyone who has had any outstanding payments for longer than 14 days after registration and additionally did not contact us within 7 days after receiving the payment reminder.
On the positive side, this means we have quite a bit more vacant hotel rooms now
So, for those of you who haven't been able to figure out if they're going to make it this year, chances of still getting a room have just improved
Cancellation of overdue accounts will be continued on a weekly basis. So, please make sure to pay in time. And in case you have received a dunning letter, please at least CONTACT us, either through email, or (if that doesn't work for you), through this forum. Do it as soon as possible! We might be able to work something out, if you'd just TALK to us.
I hope you can understand, that we have to be a lot stricter than in previous years. We're expecting a total attendance of about 600 people, which means hotel rooms are a rather precious resource. Turning down attendees because of rooms being blocked by people who refuse to even talk to us, would be rather unfair. Also our total budget (in €) is running close to a six-figure number this year. And that doesn't mean we start at 0, and end up with a nice sum cash in the end. Since all our obligations have to be paid in full before the con even starts, it means we're starting off with a six-figure debt, and then hope to make it just slightly past the 'zero' mark until the con starts! In order to keep the organisation financially stable, we must ensure that we'll be able to pay our bills quite early.
