Oh no.... -_-; Mosquitos in Germany? Really? We don't have them much here in the UK, i don't remember being bitten in the UK in the 80's and 90's but in the 2000's i noticed mosquitos came to the UK during the summer months and i was so angry because i HATE them and i HATE bring bitten by them -_-; I only ever encountered mosquitos when i went out to Turkey every summer when i was a kid...

I hope there isn't any this year at EF hotel....-_-;

People, this is a non-issue. If you leave your window open and the lights on, this will draw in insects. That's going to happen everywhere. Magdeburg is NOT known for any kind of extraordinary mosquito infestation.  Just like flies and ants, the little gnats are a normal part of european fauna in hot summer nights. Get over it :) Just leave your windows closed at night, and you'll be fine. It will also have the advantage of not killing the air conditioning.
