Paying abroad (DBahn)
« on: 29.09.2010, 12:34:41 »

Thanks to my failing German, I owe DBAhn 60 euros & have to pay it through from the UK. I've got the account details, IBAN, SWIFT & everything.

If I pay through the bank, they'll charge as much again in "conversion fees" and the trustworthy UK Post Office don't want to know about anything less than £250.

Does anyone know of other cheap options to shunt a 1-off payment to Germany from the UK?

Hi Patter!

An unfortunate situation! One method would be to get a Euro based bank account in the UK. I believe Citibank do them. Most mainstream banks don't, sadly.

Cheers,
