Dance central
« on: 16.01.2012, 11:52:03 »

As some of you might know there is a Dance game for the xbox360 kinect, called Dance Central 2.

But for those who haven't head of it, its essentially a dancing game where a camera records all your movement.
Meaning this isn't a wii game where you can wave your arms around sitting down, or DDR where you just need to use your feet... Ohh no you gotta move your hands & feet.. And everything in between :D

This is a game that have become quite popular at the Danish furmeets, and I would like to run an evening event for the people that could be interested.

Both fursuiters and non fursuiters can enjoy this game.

I have the console, kinect, game and sound system.
All I really need is either a screen or projector.
I am also thinking about the possibility of recording people dancing while showing both the player and the game screen. To those who don't mind getting their moves on tape

For the projector are 2 ways available
 - asking EF Staff if they'll have one
 - get organized your own

One will work *g*

I don't know this game, but that sounds fun.

I think that DDR is mandatory, but it would be great to have more games next year.
The room used for the DDR last year was great (near the hotel entrance), and it was big enough to receive more games, so why not. :)

I know the game so well because I have it myself and I would prefer this over DDR =D

You'll learn a lot of new dance moves and also pretty tough ones.
This time Dance Central 2 can be played with two persons next to each other while Dance Central 1 didn't have that option.
I would also bring Dance Central 1 if you haven't uploaded the songs from it to DC2, some diversity of songs is always nice.

DDR is also fun though... but I think it really gets boring since you only use your feet and need to stare at some arrows moving up.

All in all... if this would be there... then I'm totally up for it!  8)

I enjoy the game a lot!

Something both suiters and non-suiters can participate in!

You can do that  :o
Sweet I totally miss me some pokerface and Funkytown.

Had no idea you could upload all the songs from DC1 to be used in DC2, so far I only got the DLC from DC1 in my DC2

As the organizer of this little dance gig, I will bring along 60 some bottles of water for people to cool down with, you just build up a thirst jumping around doing some wacky dance routines

Just a hint in case you don't know already: There's a shop right behind the hotel selling all kinds of beverages, reachable by foot, for normal prices. Makes it trivial to obtain a supply of drinks on-site without a car.

Well I just found that out recently also... but to be able to do that you need to waste a lot of microsoft points xD
Just having both games there should be great enough ;)

Poke me about it before EF and I shall try not to forget DC1 ^_^

Gonna join the game! I always play on hard difficulty xD even if I don't know the moves yet =P

Lucky for me then I got a station-car :P
All jokes aside, thanks for the info, makes it allot easier then bringing supplies along from the danish/German border shops :P
Only thing I need now are Danish products that I couldn't find in any store at EF 15, Sprite, thick chocolate milk, good energy drinks that isn't red bull :D

I don't my body would completely spazz out from some of those moves that are put into that difficulty, I usually pick Medium when I play, unless its a song I have tried a couple of times.

Just for your information:

Giving out drinks at events is problematic, as our hotel contract forbids that. We can't give free drinks to our guests at any of our events, because it interferes with the hotels business.

However, your problem has a solution: We have a fursuit event support team :) They have the official exception from the rule, have the permission to supply free water to fursuiters. And they can also supply fans, straws, and everything else you need to make fursuiters happy. You can "book" their services directly - or, in this case, I would recommend asking con ops to organise this for you when you hand in your programming item.

Okay figured out how to get all the content from Dance central 1 installed.

So we will have these tracks available to play with

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/13/the-complete-dance-central-track-list-drops-it-like-its-hot/
http://www.trueachievements.com/n5945/dance-central-2-complete-track-list.htm

I also have a little DLC content

The Way I Are - Timbaland
Weapon of Choice - Fatboy Slim
Disturbia - Rihanna
Temperature - Sean Paul

If you know a great dance number that is out as DLC, let me know and I will buy it :D

It should be noted that most songs aren't this crazy.
