Putting the head off in the park where everyone could see you... talking about breaking the magic... and filming in the fursuit lounge... are thee mad?  m(

Don't worry, there were at least 5 staffers around them at all times, checking that they don't point their cameras in the wrong direction, plus they were really nice and understanding and asked before filming anything.

You can rely on o'wolf and Co., they make sure you are safe from cams, in the lounge as well as out of it :)

Being a bit oversensitive, aren't we?
Yep, sorry about that. I was a bit overreactive... My sincere apoligies!

About that documentary I've seen just now: good job (especially Ace Shepherd!) for what the Furry Fandom really is! Good explanation of the fandom!!

Thanks for the info, I really did not knew that... I must not be so edgy all the time.

Is it just me or did they very narrowly avoid a disaster at the end?  #p

I want to forget what i saw at 1:10..
I'm glad that this is a mix of different reports and that wasn't a part of the furry part (I hope, I don't understand that language..)

A good cut makes anything.

Throw them out through the front door and they will sneak in through the back door, but this time with bad intentions guaranteed...

As soon as I have time I'll write a report a soon what we did and why. In general: we need a certain amount of coverage for various reasons. One is: we are in the middle of the sleepy capital of Saxony-Anhalt. How would a 1300 people event with over 500 costumers not attract attention? If we just shut the doors the imagination of the media will run wild, and you don't want to see the coverage resulting from that. Also, we need a certain amount of coverage to show our business partners that we are not exaggerating and we really run such an event and how it looks like. Also, either we support the reports and have at least a chance to show what we think is important about Eurofurence and the aspects of the fandom it represents, or someone else will run their own parade.

The BNN report was a risk, we knew very well about the station and the format. The previous two seasons were the best I've seen in TV journalism for years, this season seems to have jumped the shark, though. The resulting report, with the exception to the images shown at the very end, is still very well done. Unfortunately, those (poor) furry porn paintings and completely unrelated photos spoil the whole report. Not a disaster for us, but it makes it impossible for us to use this documentary as a showcase — not to mention that a lot of participants of the report feel betrayed due to this and it makes it unlikely that they'll be available for future media coverage. Which is a pity, because they are great ambassadors for the Furry fandom.

Surely you could still use the report as a showcase, but just edit the bit out where they show the pictures? Admittedly, I can't speak Dutch, so I don't know how much they actually taked about it, but I presume it's only a small amount of the report.

Also, looking through my video, I noticed I did actually film some footage of them actually filming bits of the report:

And they also got a brief bit of me in fursuit (although with the top my head cut of) filming them filming some stuff!

And this is the above bit as seen by my camcorder:

Its better to invite them and make them follow our rules, and thus keep a track on what theyre doing, than banning them and letting them sneak in under cover (as they ultimately will do) with bad intentions. As long as we dont have anything to hide (and I am preatty sure we dont) and they dont film in the headless lounge I am happy with having tv teams around. After all positive press brings more congoers and thats a good thing.

Saw the documentary (part of it) and it looked a lot like the swedish "outsider" series that did a reportage with Keenora a year (or so ago). I think they hold it at a deascent level given what theyre intended audience are (people that likes to wowing over others "strange" interests) and from what I could see (I dont understand a bit of dutch.) they keep it at a fairly good level.

As o'wolf said its better to let tv and media in and letting them do reportage like that, and try to show the pros and cons of our fandom, than having theyre imagination runing wild (and trust me: media guyes do have a very wild imagination) over what where "hiding".

Generally speaking, the more the media sees us and the more theyre understand that were a fairly normal bunch of people that happen to enjoy dressing up as animals, the more positive covarege (aka none sex/yiff related) well get and that will benefit our society.

So keep working on good publicity from major news and interests media as long as theyre willing to follow our guidelines and minimum conduct guidelines such as not filming half dressed suiters, or film in the headless lounge, or even film people that dont want to.

Has some parts of EF 18 in it. It's nice to see that people of Pro7 are able to make good reports if they want to

And once again, they swiped random footage from youtube without asking, neither us nor the creator of the video. Talk about respectful behaviour. But since I'm generally okay with the segment, I'm not going to raise a fuss about it. Let's be happy with what we got here.
