Fursuit material in Munich
« on: 24.07.2007, 21:00:03 »

Anyone know where I can find fursuit material in the Munich area?  In markets maybe?  I'll be there on 04-Sep and 10-Sep.

(also please check my post about travelling by train from Munich)

I'm living in Munich, so perhaps I can help you a little (though only a little - in all the three years I've been living here I haven't gotten to know Munich very well...)

Perhaps you could just say, what precisely you need, and I'd try to tell you where you might get it.

As for fur: I haven't found decent and inexpensive fur myself here. There are some nice fake furs in one store, but they're obscenely expensive @ about 80€/m, the other ones I found just weren't good quality.

Well...

When I lived in Munich, I sometimes found nice fur at "Karstadt" or "Hertie" or "Kaufhof". But that's already several years ago, I don't know if they still have fur. They usually had nice fur in winter, but mostly pretty cheap fur (lower quality).

Ah, Karstadt!  I remember it from the furst time I visited Germany.  Late 1980s. ;D

I'll check those places, thanks! :D

In the meanwhile, I was at Ikea today to get a shelf rack, and they had big, short-haired pillow covers in dark blue, at 9E!! :o  Of course I got one!  Now I'll check the ones in Munich. :)

Hello Moutos,

You might want to check this site: http://www.karnevalswierts.de/index_de.php they have a lot (and I really do mean a lot) of fur for reasonable prices. You can't order by mail though. But if you give them a call, I'm sure they can tell you where else you can find good quality fur.

I for one would definately be interested in having a rummage in some of the fur stores (especially the more expensive ones) if some one could point me in the right direct :)
