Train tickets 2014
« on: 24.05.2014, 12:59:25 »

Hey everybody,

just a brief reminder that for advance saver return fares, the booking window opens on midnight tomorrow (or Monday for late departure)!

If you want an affordable rate, you're advised to book early.
DB have a new search form that enables you to look for tickets between two specific stations sorted by price in ascending order, you can find it here.

Also please remember that due to changing hotels, we cannot offer the Maritim discount fare anymore. However, there's still a variety of saver fares, group discounts or the QDL ticket to choose from — more about that in the next travel update in early June.

I will accept other opinions as long as you all accept that those opinions are wrong.

For those planning to use public transport, I recommend looking for Bus connections. Just google for "Fernbus" (long distance bus) and your route.

For many routes, the buses are cheaper than trains. Also, the booking guarantees that you get a seat and luggage space (while a guaranteed seat needs to be booked extra in trains). On the other hand, a bus might take longer than high-velocity trains.

Just compare the prices, and journey times for your route - each option has its pros and cons.
