Non-EU guests: valid passport required

(1/1)

o'wolf:
Guests from the EU and some few other states who just need a national ID card if they want to travel to Germany, and have a valid national ID card, can stop reading here.

In the previous years we've had some last minute cancellations by guests mainly from the US due to expired, delayed or denied passports. Please do yourself a favor and check whether your passport is still valid and apply for a new one as soon as possible. Apparently a large amount of applications get denied on the first attempt due to missing or insufficient documents provided. Also, the authorities can be extremely slow when dealing with the applications.

Additionally, guests from many countries require a visa, please refer to the Staatenliste Visumpflicht whether you need a visa.

For the benefit of those who don't read German, you can find the English version of the page linked to in o'wolf's post here.

I take it a swedish drivers license will not be sufficent ID.

While a national ID is enough as i live in sweden, i guess a passport would work too.
