Hello everyone,
there have been many questions about the current status of the ongoing renovations of the Lobby and Atrium area at the Estrel Hotel. The floor tiles are being replaced, and due to some unforseen delays, the projected completion date has been pushed very close to the first day of Eurofurence. At this time, we are cautiously optimistic. To be on the safe side, we have made plans that there will be an adequate substitute in case there are any more unforseen holdups. We have moved some of our functions into the second convention center. The entire Estrel Hall and the adjacent foyers will be available as additional bar and restaurant areas. This ensures there will be plenty of dining, drinking and socializing space even if the lobby turns out to be unavailable. The deadline for the final decision if the atrium will be open to the public during the con is Tuesday, August 8th. On this date we will follow up on this announcement with detailed information about the definite state of the atrium during the convention and the availability of bars and restaurants.
