Like every year we are looking for volunteers and borrowed equipment for the Paw Pet Show video.
This is a very long show and we are always short staffed in-between conventions.
Between conventions (Most important)
- People providing detailed reviews of videos in editing during the long editing process throughout the year. On camera angle selection, pacing, colours, creating intensity and focus.
- Obviously any additional camera angles of the show, that people recorded themself.
Any help here could greatly reduce the time until we get a show finished for everyone. Getting feedback and additional eyes during the editing is the single most imporant issue we have and the reason why it takes so long to release the show video.
During EF- help in carrying gear, setting things up and tearing down everything before the dances as well as sorting equipment in the hotel room after
- camera operators just checking focus, exposure, battery and media for purely stationary cameras
- camera operators with an eye for manual focus and a steady hand in smooth tripod motions across the long hall. Don't worry, you'll be given instructions via headset.
EquipmentThis list is fairly specialized but anything on it means we we can do better with the equipment we personally purchased, can borrow or spent our personal money for renting.
- SSD video recorders and media for either HDMI or SDI (important)
- Heavy, sturdy tripods
- Smooth fluid heads for rather light cameras
- Maybe we'll be short on headsets and long XLR cables for our self-build, wired interkom system
- for wide shots: bright MFT, Nikon-F or EOS lenses about 100mm Super16 / 150mm MFT / 200mm APS-C / 210mm Super35 / 300mm 35mm small format photo +/-20%
- for moving shots: MFT lenses around 200 or 250mm (especially if Panasonic dual IS or dual IS 2) for panning cameras
- Camera bodies that we can match with Blackmagic and Panasonic GH cameras
- Anything that can run autonomously as a backstage camera for 3h+ or capture the reaction of the audience when the curtain closes
