Overflow hotels in 2022
« on: 15.06.2022, 23:25:25 »

Hi everybody!

In 2018 and 2019, we were able to offer a complimentary shuttle bus to the overflow hotels near Landsberger Allee; the andel's by Vienna House and the Vienna House easy.

Unfortunately, the combination of general inflation, rising wages and high fuel prices has made this impossible for 2022, as the bus company could not make an offer that is within our budget.

Therefore, we're sorry to announce that there will be no free shuttle to the andel's and Vienna House easy on weeknights.

So, what are your alternatives?

First off, on the weekend you do not need to worry at all. S-Bahn trains run 24 hours on the weekend, so you will have no issues getting around on Saturday and Sunday morning.

For weekdays Monday to Friday, take note of these things:

  • The last S42 train leaves Sonnenallee station at 01:20.
The first train of the following day departs at 04:00.
  • Between these two times, there is an hourly public transport connection by night bus and night tram, which takes about an hour and requires two changes between bus and tram.
  • There also is a taxi rank right outside the hotel. A single trip by taxi is roughly €25 at the current Berlin taxi rate.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to some of you this year, but hope we might be able to offer a similar service again in the future.

If you need to plan your journey around Berlin, feel free to use the journey planner on the BVG web site.
