Security Reminder
« on: 01.07.2014, 16:24:02 »

Hello everyone!

Because of this year's "Crime Scene" theme, we expect to see a lot of police and gangster type of costumes. Just to be sure that things are running smoothly, we would like to make you aware of a few legal requirements that might not be obvious to everyone.

1 - Law Enforcement Costumes

  • It's illegal to wear official police insignia or clothing bearing the word "POLIZEI", "POLICE" or other captions that might mislead bystsanders into thinking you might be an actual member of law enforcement.
  • It's illegal to wear Nazi uniforms or symbols.
  • It's not allowed to wear any kind of clothing or bearing the sign "SECURITY" or variations thereof (like "SEFURITY", etc.) at the convention.

Rule of thumb is: Costumes are legal as long as it is OBVIOUS they're not real. That means, you'll get away with a lot more if you're also wearing a fursuit. However, if someone might mistake your for an actual member of law enforcement, you're in trouble.

2 - Weapons and Weapon-Lookalikes

  • Weapons are heavily regulated in germany, and most of them are illegal. This includes air guns, airsoft weapons and certain types of knifes.
  • We categorically do not allow any kind of real weapon to be brought into the convention area.
  • Realistic Weapon-Lookalikes are illegal - Toy weapons must be clearly distinguishable from real weapons, even at a distance. An orange tip is not enough. Airsoft weapons legally count as real wapons.
  • Toy weapons must be approved by our chief of security before you are allowed to carry them, even as a part of a costume.
  • It's not allowed to fire any kind of liquids or projectiles inside the building.

Rule of Thumb: If it even remotely looks like a real weapon, it will be considered a real weapon.
