Supermarket in Berlin
« on: 14.08.2014, 20:49:27 »

Hello People,

I have looked about some shops to buy Groceries and/or whatever you need :D

I found this:
The Grey Box is our Hotel and the red bubbles are shops where you can buy your stuff.

distance from the Hotel (approximately, because there are a lot of road works at the moment):

Netto Marken-Discount 300m
Lidl 400m
Edeka 600m

Um, nice to have some more choice, but there's an E(deka)-Reichelt and an Aldi practically right across the street from the hotel...

They may be useful for those of us looking for something on the way to/from the 2A Hostel, thanks!

(There is another Aldi near the 2A, but it appears to be literally the wrong side of the tracks; these are on the way.)

At the lower border of the map, right next to McDonalds, you can see the Neucölln Karree, which has (among other shops) the shops owolf mentione: A large EDEKA, an ALDI, a Sparkasse ATM, etc. Should be easier to reach than the rest. Usually, EDEKA has the best selection of those in almost everything, including drinks. Lidl and Aldi are discounters, so they mostly have their own brands. Netto depends on the location.

The name 'leopard' may derive from an old notion that leopards were the result of crosses between lions (leo) and panthers (pard).

No, Edeka is primarily a food shop.
