How about one of the suggestions we had for EF13?

* Ninja
* Chuck Norris and Sharks with friggin' lasers on their forheads! (We all love you cheetah!)
* a beach theme
* Cowboys and indians (native americans?)
* ("EF 13 -) A ghost story" 
* follow-up to EF9: after "cunning little vixens", we could have "tied-up little wolves" (or foxes, if you prefer)  <- not my fault, I just copied and pasted it!
* Furry Inquisition / Furry Inquisition Agency  (I wonder how the inhabitants from suhl would react...)
* something with "horror"
* How about a Weebl & Bob theme? Then we could have NINJA PIRATES! And donkeys, too, so there'd even be a furry connection. (not mine idea either, it was a suggestion from Schneelocke)


Of course, there are reasons why none of these topics were collected, but this time we don't have a special number, well, as far as I know.

My personal suggestion would be something mysterious. For some furs this furry stuff is still connected with ghosts, some "higher level", totems and so on after all.
I don't know if this wouldn't be something like we already had, you know, this "Songs of the old Ages" stuff. I just had this cloud around our hotel in mind. The thuringian forest looked really strange with all this fog..

I was hunting around Wikipedia (as one does) for milestones that will be rolling around in 2008 and came up with the following:

5 years ago:

• Gulf War II
• Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated on re-entry
• Vancouver announced as host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics
• Concorde made its last commercial flight

10 years ago:

• Compaq bought out DEC
• Ford bought out Volvo
• Winter Olympics held in Nagano, Japan
• Viagra approved as a treatment for impotence in the US
• Apple unveiled the iMac
• Eschede train disaster. An ICE derailed, killing 101 people.
• Windows 98 released
• France win the 1998 Soccer World Cup
• Omagh bombing, killed 29 and left over 200 injured
• Sky Digital launched in the UK

25 years ago:

• Lotus 1-2-3 launched
• Microsoft Word first released
• IBM releases IBM PC XT
• GNU Project launched
• Brinks Mat robbery, in which £26 million worth of gold bars were stolen from a vault at Heathrow Airport

50 years ago:

• Treaty of Rome is implemented, founding the European Union. Initial members are France, West Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
• Munich Air Disaster, in which 21 people were killed, including 7 Manchester United Football Club players
• The Preston Bypass, the first stretch of Motorway in the United Kingdom, opened
• The BBC Radiophonic Workshop, creators of most of the BBC's sound effects work, including the realisation of the Doctor Who theme, was founded
• The Jim Henson Company was founded

2008 also sees the Games of the XXIX Olympiad taking place in Beijing.

Whilst most of those aren't "furry" related, they could possibly be the basis of a theme.

I'm sure that something could be done based around the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, seeing as the con is based in Europe, although non-Europeans might not get it and Euroskeptics might not like it...

I would simply go there anyhow, since it wouldn't exactly change anything :p.

Well. I must say: As strange as the Cthulu idea sounds, I think it would fit or at least might fit to the surrounding area of this hotel. The Golden 20s as the theme? It can be mixed with horror for Cthulu and other fantasy as well as with gangster themes à la Bonnie and Clyde.

Pirates would be evercool. Furries in Space, SciFi, is a very versatile theme and can also work out. As a medieval freak I just mention that The Scots win the Scottish Wars of Independence in the 14th Century.

Steampunk, golden 20s, Gangster themes would quite fit the hotel, I think. All FIA-ag... all security personal would again dress in suits, now representing the mafia

I think a gangster theme would be cool. It's a classic - lots of references, lots of stuff that can be made with it. Something like the EF12 Murder Mystery could be repeated as well.

Since there are alot of webcomics of furries around the high school/college period of their lives. Can't something be done with that?
