Do not taunt Happy Fun Fennec.

Ssh! You're supposed to be drunk on EF, not one week before the con!

Also, the wine is much better here.

*looks at the fennec picture in disbelief*

Hell, do those ears have to be pumped up first like the wings of a dragonfly?  And dry in the sun before it can take off?

BTW, before anybody jumps at wrong conclusions because of my avatar: I am not, by any means, Happy Fun Fennec, nor related in any way. Also, I'm not filled with green goo. Usually.

I think we should all pet you at EF, Gyroplast *grins*

The show felt quite different than earlier shows but it was an entertaining experience none the less.
I kinda missed the good old running gags but they might just not have been that fitting if they were done the same way they were usually done.

I also had the impression that the show itself was shorter than usual, which is possibly because of less action going on than I previous shows.
Still, I enjoyed it and I really hope that there will be a DVD sooner than later :)

It depends what show you compare it to. A few years ago we ended up with shows that ran for the best part of 2.5 hours. Over the last few years Cheetah and Eisfuchs cut that down to a more manageable 1.5 hours, simply because 2.5 hours is a long time to sit on your tush in a boiling hot room, and it's also a long time to run back and forth behind the stage.

We also intentionally did break with some of the running gags and famous quotes. Over the last few years, we focussed on all our main puppets, one at a time. This year it was Mika's turn, to show that the tough girl noone messes with and who does everything herself and who has the black belt in catfighting... also has issues of her own.

Personally... I am SO looking forward to finding out what we will come up with for next year's show. Africa/Serengeti should make a really good setting!

P.S.: I found all those names rather confusing and it took me quite a while to figure out at least some of the characters names.
Generally I have a problem with remembering names, especially such uncommon ones :(

Perhaps this could help you to improve the show in some way, that its less confusing for those people that have problem with remembering names :)

You mean, like "Poke"? ^.^

Nah.. I agree this year's names were quite tricky. Took us pawpeteers quite a while to be able to pronounce them without too much difficulty.

The short names, I think, were okay. Malika, Adham, Rashid, etc.

But it was an arabic-themed convention, and so we had to follow arabic naming conventions (the whole ibn and ben stuff. Arabic names tend to include their origins and lineage to some degree, and so can get quite long).

By the way... all the arabic names used in the show have actual meanings. That includes the characters, the name of the oasis and the name of the land. Cheetah and Eisfuchs must have spent quite a while researching arabic names, there ^.^ (One example: Al Waha Ta'lab means the Oasis of the Foxes. We hope ^.^ You'll have to try and figure out the other meanings yourself, tho ^.^)

Nice attention to detail there, just goes to show how much planning is actually involved in the show :)

I can't compare it to anything but I really liked the whole female sketch, especially in a setting and a fandom with so many guys in it. The end really made me wink away a tear and that's just awesome!

*grins* We'll add that to our resumes. "Makes grown men cry" ^.^

It is amazing, year after year, to see the reaction of the audience.

Quote from: Lori
From source to sea,
all mighty rivers flow,
but where they’ll take you on their way,
you’ll never know,
until you’re there!

Please don’t cry,
it’s just a short goodbye,
we’ll meet again down by the sea,
Just wait for me,
I’ll see you there!

Strangers from far away,
turned to friends in a day.
Sorrow is the price of victory,
but with a friend,
sorrow shared, is sorrow halfed!

Friendship crossed the divide!
Now we walk side by side!
Why pretend we live in different worlds?
Let’s join our hands
take the chance, and build a world of ... Friends!

I especially loved the crazy Fennec. She was so funny and cute xD

I guess next one can be around Lionel. would be fitting.
mew. does a DVD come out? because I only got 3/4 of the show on my cam (curse you my accu) and without the Pictureless parts p.p (not to mention the bad quality because my arm fell off and it isn't made for dark recording p.p)

ah and I really really loved the song at the end. Hell she should have a singing careere.
